The Portland stove is a wonderful cast iron parlor stove made at the turn of the century in Portland, Maine. It will heat 2-3 rooms for 6-8 hours. There are two cook lids on top and a hinged loading-top. It has mica windows for fire viewing and the front door is also removable for open fire viewing.
This stove was such a popular parlor stove that back in the 1970s and 1980s it was reproduced for a second time and sold throughout the united states in hardware stores and lumber yards. It’s a beautiful piece of functional art made out of cast iron that is both powerful and efficient.
